Dream Girl

I believe that I am the most brilliant at night…when I am asleep.  I dream big, in Technicolor clarity, without fear or hesitation.  My dreams are epic and entertaining, often comedic and somehow in some kind of Sybilesque way, surprising. I have actually been surprised by the twist revealed at the end of my dream.  I mean I am“Wow, I didn’t see that coming” kind of surprised.  I awake, might I dare say, rather impressed with myself and the rippling waves of creativity I surfed during my shuteye.
“Honey,” I say, nudging my husband awake. “You would not believe the dream I had.”
He squints at me and yawns.  “Oh yeah? What was it about?”
Suddenly I’m blank. I remember the sensations, one nonsensical scene, maybe two.  “There was a guy, and he had this…um…this….”
“Um…wait, it was crazy, so good for a story…” I’m fried.  Perhaps all that brilliance has resulted in a short circuit.  “Never mind.”
“I’m going back to sleep.”

“Me too.”

Hottest Summer Ever! Christmas in July Blog Hop

We've had quite a blistering summer so far. Hot and sweaty isn't always so sexy, no matter what my compadres and I might write. I've been known to wilt a bit under the relentless sun; tongue out, hair plastered to my forehead.  I can't say that the ice cube melting on my neck is for effect.

If I could wish for one thing it would be  for my hunky heroes to come to life and fan me  for hours with ostrich feathers while I sucked grapes from their lips.  Too indulgent?  How about a massage chair? Or a new laptop.  But really I'd wish for time to slow down a bit.  Hot as hell or not, I wouldn't mind a chance to stop and smell the baked asphalt.  The summer is half over and back to school shopping is creeping into my to do list. Before I know it Christmas will be here for real!

Leave a comment about your Christmas in July wish and enter to win!  There are gifts to be had all around in my MMF menage By Surprise, up for grabs in print.  Enter to win a singed copy of the Etopia Press anthology Surprised by Seduction also featuring stories from authors April Angel and Eden Summers.

Good Luck!!

Saturday Spankings - Rory's first time...

Here's another taste of Jack's heavy hand from Polished.  Rory and Spencer have no idea what they've asked for.  Good thing Jack knows exactly what he's doing.

With his other wrist secured, Spencer was stretched to the max, making it difficult to keep his balance with his ankles captured in his pants and that pain-in-the-ass cast.
“Fuck, you look amazing,” Jack said. “Don’t you think so, Rory?”
“Mmm-hmm. He does.” Her head cocked to the side as she sized him up. “What are we going to do to him?”
Spencer smirked at her and shook his head. Even he understood that was a mistake.
“First you’re going to get your sweet little ass down from there and bend over the counter while I show you who the fuck is the boss around here.”
Spencer flashed his eyes at Jack as he took off his belt. “Don’t worry. I won’t leave a mark on her, I promise.”
Rory didn’t seem as convinced, yet she lay delicately over the counter without a peep. Jack raked her dress up over her bare ass. He slipped his hand between her thighs. “You cleaned up.”
“I was a mess.”
“Bad girl.” The belt snapped against her skin and she let out a sharp cry.

Menage for mainstream?

I, for one, would religiously tune into a weekly TV show that focused on a sexy polyamorous relationship. I mean, you would probably be able to set your watch to me sitting expectantly with a glass of wine, my comfy velvet pillow tucked up against me in my chair, my feet propped up, the door closed and my eyes glued. I would never miss it! It could even be a reality show. Ooh that might actually be better than fiction!

OK, so there was Big Love on HBO, which focused on the polygamous relationship of a rebellious Mormon and his three wives. It was must see TV for me, but mostly for the drama. It wasn't exactly the sexiest thing on cable. Then there are the Mormon reality shows showcasing polygamy; a true sexy-fail! So why not? Why isn't there a sexually charged polyamorous TV show to tantalize our fantastic imaginations? Perhaps we aren't ready yet...but I have a feeling we don't know what we are missing!

Saturday Spankings with Jack and Rory from Polished

I'd like to introduce you to Jack Rothman and Rory Campbell from Polished.  Rory is new to spankings, as her longtime boyfriend Spencer Hartley is no Dom.  But Jack knows exactly what she needs and Spencer is happy to give her every opportunity to get it. Jack knows what Spencer needs too, but that is another part of the story...

The cool nylon of his running pants warmed quickly under her belly. The hard muscle of his legs tensed, bracing her like an anvil. He rubbed his flattened palm over her bare ass cheeks in a slow circle. So soft, so round. She lay still as a statue, obediently, as if she’d done this a million times. “Then we’ll all go to the movies or go bowling. Something normal people do.”
“Because we’re so normal, right?”
He raised his hand high and let the first crack of his palm rain down on her ass. “This is our normal. It’s the only normal that matters.”
She whimpered and bowed her head. “Another…please, sir.”

Polished Cover Reveal

My new MMF Polished has a cover.  Isn't it lovely?   Available 5.24.13

It seemed like they had everything, but they didn’t have Jack.

Without question Spencer Hartley burns hot for his girlfriend, Rory, but his other desires are hidden down deep. He might blow things up for a living and climb mountains for kicks, but the scariest thing in his life is the truth about his sexuality.

Jack Rothman works hard and plays dirty. After long, demanding days in his family's engineering firm, he indulges in the pleasures of silk restraints and fine wine. Lots of hot meaningless sex helps him forget that he’s suffocating, with no one to give him a reason to breathe.

When a catastrophic accident traps Spencer in a flooded subway tunnel with Jack, they need each other to survive. But something strong stirs down there in the darkness, and it’s more than their desperation to live. There’s a spark between them that’s impossible to ignore.

Rory Campbell would love to give Spencer the one thing he doesn’t have, the freedom to explore his secret desires. But how does that fit into her picture-perfect relationship? When Jack invites the couple to his sprawling Hamptons beach house, Rory realizes that she has secret desires of her own—the kind only Jack’s Dominant hand across her bare bottom can satisfy.

It’s not conventional, it’s not easy, but fate has brought the three of them together. Will real life tear them apart or can they let their special connection shine?

Shopping with my girls - Character style

If there is one thing I love more than a good story, it's a great outfit.  Well, let's call it a tie at least.  So dreaming up outfits for my characters is a natural marriage of my two of my favorite things. This was more fun than it should have been for a grown woman!  I suppose my paper doll days are still with me. Check out what my girls are sporting this season.

Rory Campbell from my upcoming release Polished is an optimist at heart.  Her big heart is out there for everyone to see.  She'd totally wear bright sunny colors with a breezy casual spin.  Those Tory Burch ballet flats would have been bought on sale or maybe at a consignment shop. On a student's budget, she's wearing those things until they plain fall apart.

Shannon Morris of Double Take is all about business at Eaglecorp. My over-achieving bombshell would be rocking the latest fashions of 2158.  Classic throwbacks are in, but only those form the very highest status class can afford authentic pieces from a time when fashion was more than a replicated uniform.  With the sun scorching outside, she's never without protective eyewear.

Jodi Tate from By Surprise has an edge to her.  She can't help it, she had it tough growing up. But she's an artist, so along with the shit kicking boots, Jodi has a softer bohemian slant to her style. Nothing get's thought about for too long, she just throws it on and goes.  Some people can just look good without even trying.

Whose style is closest to yours?

I'm sad ... and I'm angry.

I would be the first to say I enjoy a good action packed novel or movie full of violence and intrigue, good guys and villains, blood, gore; sure why not?

But that shit belongs in Hollywood!

After living through the 911, I am horrified to know that terrorists have struck us again when we are at our most vulnerable--when we weren't expecting it.   If there is a place for innocents to be slaughtered over someone's idea its in FICTION!   I truly wish that human beings would use their generally superior intellect (as beings go) to create rather than destroy.

I feel for the people enduring the Boston Marathon bombing.  I can not imagine losing a loved one to something so senseless.  My thoughts and prayers join millions across the world.  The horrible truth is that it only takes a few to horrify the many.

What sicken's me most is that this will surely not be the last time my stomach is turned by watching the news.  This is not the last time we will be shocked by the inhumanity around us.  There is no wonder I'd rather be reading (or writing) than anything else. My worlds are somehow not quite as ugly.

Holding It to Heart

The other day I was in a crowded mall going about my busy little business, taking quick steps, oblivious to much of everything around me.  People passed by me in swarms.  I wasn’t particularly looking at any of them.  I had my mundane errands to run.  And then as luck who have it, my eyes dropped at the right moment to a clutch of teens and their hands.  Some held bags, others gripped their precious iphones as they chatted and laughed, but at the back of the of the group two unassuming young guys held hands as innocently as any fourteen or so year olds on a first “date” to the mall.  I smiled, not so much at them, but more to myself.

I unfortunately know a time when such young and nervous heart strings wouldn’t be so confident to show affection.  I also know a time when I’d have been afraid for these skinny little fellows who looked like they may not be able to fend off some jack ass bigot.  But these are not those times and that sweet image has lingered with me and made me smile ever since I so surreptitiously glimpsed it that tedious afternoon.

For too many years, so many have struggled to find the strength to be who they are, without the poison of guilt, fear or regret.  In my upcoming release, Polished, Spencer Hartley makes a long journey to find comfort in his needs and desires.  That kind of struggle is a painful one if the steps taken are wrought with doubt and judgment.  Good thing there are happy endings in my stories.  Even better is the fact that there are now so many in real life.

We are moving in the right direction.  The hearings on marriage equality today made me giddy with hope that HEA will soon be a right for everyone!

HEA my way.

I'm not all together sure every coupling in a romance needs to end up with marriage.  Maybe it's because I've been married for more than a few happy years that I can be so cavalier.  But after reading a slew of pretty spicy menages (I've been on kind of a marathon binge this past week), I'm a little tired of the HEA endings that commence in marriage.  I've even put a few books down at that point.

It occurs to me that I have yet to write a proposal and wedding into a plot line, even in the one book where my characters eventually get married. Call me a rebel, (you might be on to something if you do) but I think I avoid writing the whole marriage as the perfect ending on purpose.  Not that I never will, and not that I haven't read some amazingly rewarding endings that focused on the nuptials--my hesitation is in getting caught up in a formula.

Some of my favorite books leave the final details open for interpretation. Maybe they get married, maybe they don't.  I like the idea of imagining the continual progression of the relationship.  It keeps me thinking about the story I've read long after I've finished it.

Any thoughts?

"And I slid my fingers over my pussy, like this, teasing you relentlessly."

"You weren't making me sorry, sweetheart, you were making me fall in love with you. So stubborn and sexy, so difficult – I ate it up."

"You waited until I was in the middle of my climax, with my fingers rubbing my clit furiously and my mind cloudy with the sweet power I had over you in that moment."

"And then I fucked your mind completely and told you I loved you."

"Yeah, that was how it went," I breathed through a sultry grin.

Six Sentence Sunday - SEND

Here is a little peek at Jimmy and Tina from SEND, my head-spinning erotic contemporary with three intertwining plots that make for a wild ride.  I "interviewed" Jimmy not long ago. He's a trip and one of my most favorite characters.  Check out six sentences from Chapter 6 of SEND, Xcite Books

He grasps my fingers and though I am sure he intended on pushing them away, he parts his lips and tenderly suckles them instead. They are the same two fingers that were inside Noemi only five minutes ago and upon recognizing her musky nectar, his wickedly sexy smile returns.

"You are my naughty girl, aren't you?" he muses and I beam back at him.

"You have no idea."

His face softens a bit and his fingers slip in between mine, mixing my brown skin with his lighter hue. "For the first time in a really long while, I don’t know what’s going to happen next."
